{except i have work i have to get done at some point.}

the sun is shining

today has been a beautiful day
and what better way to spend your day when a beautiful river runs through your campus?
go have lunch by the river.

i’ve been wanting this adorable owl pitcher from modcloth for months, but they’ve always been sold out. they finally got some in stock and i jumped at the chance to get one.

totally for my dad for his birthday, don’t tell.

i ordered this bracelet from elephantine, and i love it.  it’s so simple, but so beautiful.

happy monday

i hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday.  the weather in Texas {at least in my part of Texas} is beautiful and i want to take full advantage of it. which means i’ve been day dreaming out the window all afternoon instead of working on research.

i found a candle that smells like my mom’s perfume. at first this made me really sad, but now it makes me really happy, which is nice.

in order to change things up this Easter, my dad and sister are coming to San Marcos for a few days.  i’m really looking forward to it.  the thought of spending Easter back at my parent’s house was making me dread the holiday {and honestly, i don’t know how i feel about the holiday right now, it was my mom’s favorite}.  we’re going to make the most of it and have a little backyard party, complete with burgers and cupcakes.

if anyone has a good homemade cupcake recipe, i’d love it if you would send it to me!  i’m going for the whole “i didn’t make this from a box” theme this weekend. carly.smith27@gmail.com

a lovely day at the airport

Saturday was such a pretty day, Travis and i decided to head over to the local airport, park the car near the tarmac and watch the small engine planes take off.  but not before we stopped by the Texas Pie Company for some mini pies.  Trav got chocolate heath and i got strawberry rhubarb, they were delicious.

for the past week i was back in Houston helping out my dad and sister with a few things.
now i’m back in Austin, prepping for SXSW.  My advanced online media graduate class will be covering SXSWi {interactive}.  the interactive portion of the event is filled with the latest in the internet, technology, social media, web design, multimedia journalism, everything.  i’m still sitting here trying to decide what panels i want to attend, because there are just so many.  check out south by texas state to see what we’re up to.
