A few goals for 2012.

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

Our NYE was a quiet one. Travis was recovering from a very successful bachelor party the night before. So, we stayed in with Chinese food, and champagne (for me), and ginger ale (for him).

We’re getting next married next Saturday! Life has been absolutely crazy. But, I wanted to put a few goals in writing for the new year.

1. Keep up with the fitness and health goals I made in late 2011. More running (joined a formal running group), more races (Capitol 10K in March), more raw foods and more yoga.
2. Keep up with this poor, neglected blog. After the wedding, I’m back, I promise!
3. More cooking, more baking. No more being scared of the kitchen.
4. Taking Harper on more walks. Wiener dog is looking a little chunky…

We’re heading to Winter Park, Colorado for our honeymoon next Sunday! If I don’t break both of my arms, I will post tons of snowy pictures when I return. :)

a letter of sorts.

dear universe,
as i will be turning 23 before this month is over, i vow to live and love with all my heart.
this includes, but is not limited to:
loving my body
playing fetch with harper
running {i’m serious about that whole marathon thing}
sleep more
smile more
don’t get frustrated with travis for silly, little things
be okay with messes
be okay with grieving
read for fun
accept the fact that i am a compulsive list maker
sincerely yours,
carly

23 things in 2010

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010
because it is a new year, and well frankly, i need to set some goals
for my life.
i made a list, because that’s what i do.
and since i will be the big 2-3 this  year, i figured i’d try to tackle
23 things in the next 365 days.
yes, i’m starting out low…maybe in 2011 i’ll do 2011 things…who knows
Move in with Travis, because really, it’s about dang time
Participate in an organized running event
(let’s not call it a marathon, because that puts too much pressure on things)
Actually start running again
Take Harper on a walk every day
(even though when it’s super cold outside, neither of us want to go)
Graduate with a master’s degree
Drink milk more than once a week
Eat at least one vegetable and/or fruit a day
Beat down the body image monster
Go on a road trip
Be everything my sister needs
Actually perform scheduled maintenance checks on my car
Don’t let others get me down
Really take control of my stomach issues
Suck it up and get Lasik
Play outside more
Be a more involved blogger
Make the effort to network more within my profession
Pay off some student loans
Expand my knowledge of wine
(and venture away from the $8 bottles)
Be active, every day
Play paintball
Do something for someone, every day
Put my whole heart into everything I do
