oh, hello dear

Sunday would have been my mom’s 53rd birthday.  My cousin Kate and I thought we should do something, here in Austin, as sort of a tribute or something that she would have enjoyed doing.  My mom lived in Austin for a while in the 70′s, and used to hike Mount Bonnell frequently.  So Kate, her boyfriend David, Travis and I, and several of our friends (including my roommate Mairin, my other roommate Taylor, Brett, Maira and Mitchell) went hiking there Sunday.  And then went and stuffed our faces at the County Line.

It was a great day and a very nice way to remember mom.

harper turns one year old this weekend. the past year has flown by, it seems like yesterday we were dealing with potty training and eating things we shouldn’t eat {okay, he did do that yesterday–he still has a fondness for leaves, bark and sometimes kitty poo}.

as silly as it sounds, harper has brought us so much happiness, and has helped us, me especially, through some hard times.

i ordered a few pupcakes from sugar mama’s, as well as some regular cupcakes for the humans. it’s all just for fun, plus it’s a good excuse to go outside and play, and eat cupcakes, too.

so in honor of the big birthday, here’s a look back at all the craziness the past year has brought.  we love you ween!
